EPUCRET puts North Wing in operation

EPUCRET mineral casting technology has started in the new financial year 2008/2009 optimally equipped. Today, the manufacturer of mineral casting machine beds officially opened its 2,000 square meter extension building. The centre piece - the production hall - will increase capacities by 15 per cent. Nothing now stands in the way for further growth in Europe and Asia. At the same time, the company professes its clear commitment to the location Wangen.

EPUCRET Mineralgusstechnik (Mineral Casting) prepares itself for further growth: manufacturing employees cut the red ribbon.

The order books at EPUCRET Mineralgusstechnik are full. With the new extension building the manufacturer of machine beds increases its capacities by 15 per cent.

The order books at EPUCRET mineral casting technology are full. A considerable number of machine tool manufacturers ensure this, amongst others. Extreme price rises as well as substantial availability problems with the classical rack materials, such as steel and cast iron, have provided additional impulses to the demand for the innovative mineral casting. But also the good sentiment in the mechanical engineering business is affecting the world-wide growth of EPUCRET positively. In the past financial year 2007/2008 (July 2007 - June 2008) alone, EPUCRET produced over 11,000 tons of mineral casting. "That is far above the actual ca-pacities of both factories. For this reason, the completion of the north wing has come about just at the right time for us to develop further projects of some important machine tool manufacturers up to the serial production stage. This will effectively relieve factory 1, which is already bursting at the seams", managing director Dr. Utz-Volker Jackisch confirmed today during the opening celebrations. Together with Rudolf Rampf, senior partner of the RAMPF Group to which EPUCRET has belonged since 1996, manufacturing employees cut the red ribbon before approximately 120 guests.

So far, 14 employees work in the new north wing in five ultramodern production cubicles. Beyond that, the roughly 1,900 square meter main hall holds the interim storage facilities for mineral casting blanks, as well as a lacquering and shipping department. A special highlight of the well thought-out process chain is the loading option for trucks via an opening from the main hall into the freely accessible basement level. When the next building site project is to be tackled is not clear yet. "This may happen faster than we think, however", Jackisch divulged during the ceremony, which was also attended by Wangen’s mayor Werner Stöckle. Already in 2006, one year after the inauguration of Factory 2, the management had planned the additional north wing and sent it on its way to obtain the necessary permits. By the middle of 2007 it was clear that the extension had to be built. In October 2007, the ground-breaking ceremony for the 2.5 million Euro annex took place. The new north wing of Factory 2 accommodates a production hall with 1,200 square meters floor space, a warehouse with 720 square meters as well as rooms for taking breaks with 150 square meters.
