EPUCRET "Wangener Maschinentage 2012" symposium – everything you need to know about machine beds
On 9-10 May 2012, the spotlight will well and truly be on machine beds at "Wangener Maschinentagen 2012", a two-day symposium organised by EPUCRET Mineralgusstechnik, a leading manufacturer of machine beds made of mineral casting. Top suppliers of machine beds, leading machine manufacturers and research institutions will be on hand to present basic information about machine beds, discuss requirements and offer decision-making aids. By presenting different concepts and materials, EPUCRET General Manager Dr. Utz-Volker Jackisch aims to show that there is no such thing as the one ideal material for machine beds. As well as giving visitors an insight into the basics of the individual machine bed technologies, this technology platform will also highlight innovative approaches to future machine bed solutions. The line-up of speakers includes managing directors from well-known machine manufacturers such as Chiron, EMAG and RASOMA.

All the latest from the world of machine beds – materials, concepts, innovations
Virtually no other area of machine components offers such a wide variety of concepts and materials as the machine bed segment. Developers and designers are spoilt for choice between metals such as grey cast iron, steel and aluminium (filled or unfilled), natural hard stone, various fibre-reinforced and concrete materials and mineral casting. But one thing is for sure: "There is no such thing as the one ideal material for machine beds", explains Dr. Utz-Volker Jackisch, General Manager of EPUCRET Mineralgusstechnik. "For each new machine, the design and commercial requirements – including the requirements for the machine bed and its components – must be carefully analysed and compared with the possibilities and limitations of the available alternatives."
This industry event for mechanical engineers aims to teach managers in the areas of development, design and procurement the importance of powerful machine bed components for innovative production technology. It will also present control processes to enhance machine dynamics and provide important information on project innovations in the field of machine beds and machine bed components.
"Wangener Maschinentage 2012" is organised and held by EPUCRET Mineralgusstechnik, a member of the international RAMPF Group. During plant visits, participants will also have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the production facilities of mechanical engineers and suppliers at first hand.
